Social media marketing very popular name in the field of marketing. According to it's name there is two thing Social media + Marketing = Social media marketing. Name is enough to tell us mod of marketing. Use of social media sites in marketing called social media marketing. In depth there is many more things.

Every company using social media for business and popularity  If not they want to use social media for branding and business. Almost 90% of companies hiring social media expert. You can easily find there requirement on job board. You can see something these kind of requirement "social media marketing manager - experience- 10-12 years" "social Media expert with 6-10 yrs of experience"

A question rise in my mind because companies looking for 10 to 12 year experience expert "Is social media marketing is 10-12 year old?" and my answer is no social media marketing is not that much old. As i started using social media site in 2007, lots of geeks don't know about Facebook and Twitter in city like Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi. In same year in 2007 we started using social media for branding, marketing and business development. Before 2007 I also don't know about Facebook and Twitter. But we used Orkut for social networking not for marketing.

So I think people started using social media sites for branding, marketing and business development in 2007-2008. Here some facts about social media sites, when which site is launched:-

Friendster was Launched March 22, 2002.
LinkedIn was launched on May 5, 2003.
Hi5 was Launched in June 21, 2003.
Myspace was launched in August 2003.
Orkut was launched on January 22, 2004 by Google.
YouTube was Launched in February 14, 2005.
Bebo was launched in July 2005.
Twitter full version was introduced publicly on July 15, 2006.
Facebook was opened on September 26, 2006, to everyone of age 13 and older.
Pinterest was launched in March 2010
Google+ was launched in June 28, 2011

Few others sites people using for branding, marketing and business development like- Digg, Delicious, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Technorati. But these are not social networking sites, these are social bookmarking site.

Next time if you find 10-12 years social media marketing experienced job post on job board consider them like geeky jokes. And if you have +5 year social media marketing experience then you can apply for that job.

Power of a Tweet in Making Hero and Zero

As every one know as twitter is becoming a media site. Why "media" question rise in your mind? Is am right?. Yes you listen right, in past I never say twitter is media or social media site. Because twitter was and is micro blogging site.  But now a days we are using twitter as a media and viral news site. Why "viral" because it's spreading any thing more viral then any news site.

It's not matter you are twitting right or wrong things, your tweet just need a # tag to becoming viral. When your # tag go viral your tag will become trending topic and will appear as trend. Yesterday just someone posted a tweet "RIP #KadarKhan" and it's retweeted by so many people and become tending topic. After few hrs we saw news "Actor Kader Khan Victim of Death rumours".

Kader Khan upset with his death rumours. This is not done with only Kadar Khan. It's already done with lot's of people. This is the power of a tweet and tweeter. Please cross check before tweeting or making retweet. Because a wrong tweet can make you hero as well as zero. It's can spoil your career, job and future.
